Westfield Insurance has announced a groundbreaking collaboration with Whisker Labs to enhance home safety for its policyholders. This partnership will see the deployment of the innovative Ting device, designed to detect electrical hazards and prevent potential home fires.
Westfield Insurance is providing 10,000 home and condo customers with the Ting device at no cost this year. Over the next three years, an additional 20,000 homeowners will receive this smart sensor and service, further expanding the initiative.
This initiative primarily benefits Westfield Insurance’s home and condo policyholders. The rollout will initially cover 10,000 customers this year, with plans to reach over 20,000 more in the subsequent three years.
The initiative began in 2023 and is set to continue expanding through 2026.
Homeowners and policyholders have a vested interest in preventing home fires, one of the most devastating losses a household can experience. The Ting device offers peace of mind by detecting electrical hazards before they can cause significant damage.
Steve Butler, AVP of personal lines product management and underwriting at Westfield, stated, “Part of our mission is to enable our customers’ peace of mind, and Ting does exactly that by giving homeowners advance notice to help prevent a potential home fire.”
Bob Marshall, Co-Founder & CEO of Whisker Labs, added, “The Whisker Labs Ting team is excited to join forces with Westfield to help prevent electrical fires in customers’ homes.”
John Riggs, CTO and SVP of Applied Technology Solutions for HSB, emphasized, “Fire continues to be one of the most devastating losses. Ting presents clients the opportunity to both reduce the risk of electrical fires and gather insightful data.”
